Format
of Play:
The
format is designed for all levels from beginners to experienced golfers. There
will be two tournaments in one. We will use the Peoria System to determine
one-day handicap since most players may not have established handicaps.
This system involves totaling the score on six pre-selected holes unknown
to players. Then, each player’s
net score will be calculated with a formula below:
Each
player’s six-hole total will be multiplied by 3; par is subtracted from that
total; then the resulting number will be multiplied by 80 percent. This will be
the player's allowance. The allowance will be subtracted from the player's gross
score and the result will be the net score.
Preselected
holes will include two par 3’s, two par 4’s and two par 5’s, one of each
in the front and back nine respectively. Example:
On the six holes, Player A uses 30 strokes. 30x3=90. 90 minus par-72 is 18.
Eighty percent of 18 is 14 (round off). Fourteen is the allowance. Player A's
gross score is 90; 90minus 14 results in a Peoria System net score of 76.
a)
Stroke Play: For individual championship. Each player’s gross score will be
subtracted from
their
individual handicap and the player with the lowest net score will be declared
the Stroke Champion.
b)
Grand Champion: The Player with the lowest gross score will be declared the
Grand Champion.
